Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em: Week 10 (Offense)
OFfense
Start: Dak Prescott, Travis Etienne, Drake London, Ryan Ramczyk, Drew Dalman
Dak Prescott gets very little recognition when he’s playing well but plenty of heat for the few games when he doesn’t. In 6 out of his 8 games this season, Dak has posted PFF grades of 70 or higher. In Week 10, Dak and the Cowboys take on a Giants team that appears to be in full tank mode. Considering Aidan O’Connell was able to post a 71.8 PFF grade against the Giants in Week 9, expect Prescott to have some success while facing one of the league’s lowest-graded secondaries.
Everyone knows the 49ers are excellent at rushing the passer but, what is a bit surprising, is how much they’ve struggled to defend against the run this season. Despite just a 59.4 team run blocking grade, Joe Mixon was able to post a 75 PFF grade against San Francisco before their bye week. Look for Doug Pederson to rely on Travis Etienne this week to expose poor tackling and a poor run defense.
I certainly don’t anticipate an explosion of offense from Atlanta this week… I don’t think anyone does. Instead, I expect Drake London and Drew Dalman to maintain their consistent play against a weak all-around defense. Both players have posted PFF grades of 65 or higher in all but two games this season.
In past seasons, All-22 GMs didn’t have to give much thought to starting Ryan Ramcyk every week. The 2023 season has been a bit different for Ramczyk; the first 6 weeks of Ramczyk’s season were fairly inconsistent. Since the bye week, however, Ramczyk has posted two consecutive games with PFF grades over 75. Considering Minnesota doesn’t rush the passer or defend the run very well, I expect Ramczyk’s streak to continue in Week 10.
Sit: Russell Wilson, Javonte Williams, Davante Adams, Morgan Moses, Dylan Parham
This Week 10 trip to Buffalo might be a tough outing for the Denver offense. If I have some depth at QB and RB, I’m knocking Russell Wilson and Javonte Williams down to a backup spot. Against a consistent, well-rounded defense, I expect down weeks from two players who have had their share of ups and downs throughout the season.
The Raiders have some life all of a sudden. In back-to-back weeks, the Josh McDaniel-less Las Vegas Raiders will take on another, albeit quite different, New York opponent. Unlike the Giants, the Jets will have a week of tape to prepare for an Antonio Pierce led Raiders team. The Jets will look for ways to limit Josh Jacobs in the run game and force the game into the hands of Aidan O’Connell. O’Connell and Davante Adams won’t be working against another defense with a 58.7 coverage grade, instead they’ll face an elite coverage unit with the highest PFF coverage grade in the league (91.5). Anticipating “back to earth” type of game for the Raiders offense, I’m sliding Davante Adams to WR3 or lower and putting Dylan Parham on my bench.
Morgan Moses has been pretty close to a “set and forget” starter at Tackle this season. Except for one week, Moses has posted PFF grades of 64+ all season. So why am I telling you to bench him? That “one week” I just mentioned, was the last time Morgan Moses played the Browns in which he put up a 54.6 stinker. On top of facing his most troublesome opponent, this will be Moses’ first game back off of a shoulder injury. Put him on ice this week.
